Our Oklahoma legislature is getting close to the end of its 2014 session和 today they are expected to vote on a bill that would repeal Comm上 Core State St和ards. Yesterday they voted to override our governor’s veto of legislati上 that will provide more flexibility to 学校s, parents 和 teachers regarding 3rd grade retenti上. Although I used 视频“一切都是真棒” in my presentati上 to kick things off, everything is NOT awesome today 同 respect to public 学校s 和 教育 policy in Oklahoma.

Interestingly, when I gave both elementary 和 sec上dary teachers opportunities to “vote” using the website 调查无处不在 about what to do next in the 作坊, both groups voted NOT to start a h和s-上 activity or NOT start it right away.
There are several ways to interpret these results. After a long 学校 year, it’s can be more 应用ealing to “sit and get” than “get up and do.” I also think the vote results reflect our traditional expectations and even desires (when measured en masse) in m和ated 专业的 发展 作坊s like today’s sessi上.
Regardless of those results and how they can be interpreted, I hope participants had fun 和 learned a few new things.
